Born in Beckenham, England, Rickard Smith picked up the guitar when he was five years old after watching his father play a Chet Atkins and Merle Travis version of “Down South Blues”.
At the ripe age of 11 years old, he shared the stage with his idol, Chet Atkins when Chet invited him to play with him at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London. That started a long, long friendship together. Chet once said that since Richard knew every song he ever recorded, he would sometimes call him for help in re-learning his older tunes.
Richard moved to Nashville in 1999 and still lives there with his wife, cellist Julie Adams. He has performed and/or recorded with the likes of John Jorgenson, Pat Bergeson, Bryan Sutton, Stuart Duncan, Frank Vignola, Joshco Stephan and Tommy Emmanuel, to name a few.
Richard has entertained at venues all over the world, even at the Grand Old Opry stage in is home town. He performances encompass genres from vintage ragtime pieces, to folk, blues, pop, classical, and he is a master of the Django Reinhardt gypsy jazz style
There is not a guitarist on the planet that can play such a wide variety of styles with such proficiency.

There will be general admission seating including theater style seats as well as tables and chairs. No reservations. First come first serve. Doors open at 6:00 PM.
